What is your contribution to the solution of challenges/problems facing our country, your community and direct environment

The popular saying is, ask not what your country must do for you but what you must do for your country.

Namibia has infact so many beautiful things to rejoice about, but we do recognize that there are challenges too. These include unemployment which is ranked at over 27% in 2012, poverty among some communities especially in rural areas and some informal settlements country-wide. I am talking about about shelter shortages, far-locate facilities in some areas, food prices that continue to increase, water and electricity bills, sanitation that needs to be improved. Education and training affordability - which is a challenge for many especially the tertiary education. The issues of reported corruption, crime and the recently spiraling passion killings and levels of thos commiting suicide.

I am aware that the list of challenges is long - but I believe manageable too.

The question is however, what is your direct contribution to find solution to all these challenges. You too can make a difference, whether at work, community, home and the country in general. Your input and creative suggestions and proposals can just a make a difference at any level. Do you know where to go to submit a proposal when you have found a potential solution? Do you know the channels, even in your community or at the work place?

All I can advice now is for you and me to work together and find strategies to attend to some of these challenges. You have the power and abilities to do just that...if you commit yourself to this, I am sure you can help find a solution to at least one of them, I am also in the same boat.
